Activities Supervisor
Vision for the Role: Responsible for all recreational activities related to Youth Camps, Adult Retreats and Guest Groups at Hume Christian Camps. Provide direct leadership for the Aquatics and High Adventure Specialists, as well as the Activities Administrative Assistant.

The Role:
● Staff Oversight and Training: Hire, train, supervise, and mentor all activities staff, ensuring effective performance for all Hume Lake camps, retreats and guest groups.● Safety and Risk Management: Evaluate and oversee safety standards, risk management protocols, and compliance with regulations for all activities.
● Budget Management: Manage the annual activities budget, overseeing financial planning for major projects and daily operations.
● Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep and maintenance of equipment for various seasonal activities and facilities, ensuring safety and quality.
● Permit Management: Maintain necessary permits and licensing with the Forest Service and other regulatory bodies for licensing, outfitting and guiding.
● Team Development and Engagement: Facilitate conflict resolution, encourage staff engagement in decision-making, and model organizational values to foster a positive team environment.
● Activity Development: Research, design, and implement new recreational activities and adventure elements for youth camps, adult retreats, and guest groups.
Other
● Primary work location is Hume Lake.● Out-of-town and/or overnight travel may be required.
● Perform other related duties and assignments as required; Hume Lake maintains the right to reassign or change duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
● Acquire and maintain certifications, training and or continued education pertinent to activities, facilities and equipment including:
- Challenge Course Levels 1 & 2 by an Association for Challenge Course Technologies (ACCT) certifying body.
- Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facilities Operator Certification (2-day class)
- CPR/First Aid o Lifeguarding Certification/Instructor Certification
- DMV Class B Licensing

Must agree with Hume Lake’s Statement of Belief and be willing to abide by Hume Lake’s Code of Conduct.
Must be able to live in Hume Lake housing or provide private accommodations conducive to guests and conference needs.
Physical Requirements: Bending, lifting, sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, walking. Hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and normal range of eyesight and hearing required to communicate with staff and manipulate camp equipment. Must operate with daily exposure to the cold, heat, rain, sun, and varying other weather conditions, as well as under irregular working hours in a camp environment. Able to lift 25-50 pounds.
