Vision for the Role:  The Grounds Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining the beauty and hospitality of Hume’s outdoor spaces in order to help facilitate ministry experiences for campers and guests. This individual provides general care of Hume grounds through basic landscaping and facility maintenance.

The Role:

  • Duties include general care of Hume grounds and may include trimming, digging, mowing, raking, watering flowers, and hauling trash.
  • Follow all safety procedures and directions provided by supervisors.
  • Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude, contributing to a Christ-centered team environment.
  • Represent Hume Christian Camps’ values and mission through conduct, attitude, and service.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • No formal job experience required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the start of employment to live in summer staff housing.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Willingness to perform physical tasks and work outdoors or indoors as needed.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work under supervision.
  • Must agree with and support Hume Christian Camps’ Statement of Faith.
  • Must have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to share the Gospel through word and deed.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to stand, walk, frequently lift 50 pounds, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions of the job.
  • Live and work in extreme weather conditions, at high altitude, and in small living quarters.

Salary: $16.90 Hourly
