Vision for the Role:  The purpose of the Activities Specialist is to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ by the leading of safe and engaging recreational activities for campers and guests. Activities may include Snow Tube Runs, Ice Skating, Indoor Climbing Wall, Archery/Hatchet, Escape Room, and Recreation Games. Responsible for activity & recreation setup or equipment preparation, overseeing scheduled activities, as well as clean up and repairs. This is a Casual position, working on an as-needed basis.

The Role:

• Duties include instructing campers and guests on the use of activities which might include Snow Tube Runs, Ice Skating, Indoor Climbing Wall, Archery/Hatchet, Escape Room, and Recreation Games.
• Follow all safety procedures and directions provided by supervisors.
• Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude, contributing to a Christ-centered team environment.
• Represent Hume Christian Camps’ values and mission through conduct, attitude, and service.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• No previous experience or specific skills required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age at start of employment to live in staff housing; or must be a High School graduate who is a dependent resident of Hume in staff housing.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks and work outdoors or indoors as needed.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work under supervision.
• Must agree with and support Hume Christian Camps’ Statement of Faith.
• Must have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to share the Gospel through word and deed.

Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to stand, walk, frequently lift 50 pounds, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
• Requires the physical ability to climb and support campers on the ropes course, along with the agility and endurance needed to oversee fast-paced outdoor programs.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions of the job.
• Live and work in extreme weather conditions, at high altitude, and in small living quarters.

Salary: $16.90 Hourly
