Assistant High Adventure Coordinator
Vision for the Role: The Assistant to the High Adventure Coordinator supports the planning, implementation, and supervision of High Adventure activities including but not limited to the Challenge Courses, Paintball, Archery, Escape Room, Skate Park, and Seasonal Activities. This position assists in ensuring all activities are safe, spiritually enriching, and operated in accordance with Hume’s mission and policies. The Assistant will work closely with staff, campers, and guests, and may be asked to support additional camp activities and retreats as needed.

The Role:
- Assist in daily operations and supervision of High Adventure activities.
- Support the setup, and takedown of High Adventure equipment and facilities.
- Aid in routine inspections of challenge courses, paintball, archery, and skate park to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards.
- Support seasonal activities such as Jeep Tours, Disc Golf, Giant Swing, Snowboarding, Ice Skating, Tube Run, and Snow blowing.
- Facilitate groups on high ropes courses.
- Help guide and mentor Joshua students, weekend staff, and seasonal hires.
- Help train summer and weekend staff in proper procedures, safety protocols, and spiritual leadership.
- Provide enthusiastic, Christ-centered guest service to all campers, groups, and retreat participants.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, functional, and safe environment for all activity areas.
- Maintain timely communication with supervisors and team members.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Evidenced commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to share the Gospel with others.
- Must agree with Hume Lake’s Statement of Belief and be willing to abide by Hume Lake’s Code of Conduct.
- Ability to lead and organize a team of young adults.
- Experience in retail and/or merchandise design is helpful.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Challenge Course facilitation (Low/High Ropes, Zip Lines, Climbing).
- Working knowledge of paintball, archery, or skate park operation.
- Prior experience in youth camps, adventure ministry, or outdoor education.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- ACCT Level 2 certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Physical Demands:
- Regularly lift and move 25 lbs; frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be physically capable of climbing, hiking, and working at heights.
- Must be able to operate mechanical equipment and perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule that changes from season to season.
